First Baptist Church of Carrollton, Inc. (FBC) under the leadership of Dr. Woodrow Johnson, Jr. is elated to be celebrating their upcoming Historic Homecoming Weekend Saturday August 10, 2019 through Sunday August 11, 2019.
The theme for the Homecoming Weekend this year is “All Roads Lead to FBC”. This weekend is to be an historic and uplifting celebration, not only for the First Baptist Church family, but also for Carrollton, Carroll County and surrounding counties. First Baptist Church of Carrollton, has a significant historical value, and has had a large and thriving membership in the African American churches community. The first stop, on the road to FBC will be a Community Open House on Saturday, August 10, 2019 from 9:00am to 2:00pm. The city of Carrollton and the surrounding areas are invited to a firsthand account of the ministries at the church. Since the official announcement of Dr. Johnson as pastor, he has coined the vision of “Chartering New Pathways”. Under his leadership, there have been growth in membership and structural changes to enhance the ministry work of the church. The second stop on the road to FBC will be the much anticipated “Family and Friends Day Celebration”, on Saturday August 10th from 11:00am to 2:00pm. Family and Friends of FBC are invited to a day of discovery and fun. Guests are encouraged to bring tents and lawn chairs for the event. You can look forward to food, games, and much more! Sunday morning August 11, 2019 at 10:00am will be morning worship with the message delivered by Rev. Faith Johnson, wife of Pastor Johnson. Dinner is served immediately after morning worship. The highly anticipated Historic Homecoming Service is set to begin at 2:00pm. This service includes the Homecoming Reunion Choir. First Baptist Church has historically housed one of the most formidable music ministries in the West Georgia area, and has been home to such acclaimed groups as the Gospel Chimes, Addison Sisters, and two members of the Blend of Men, just to name a few. Not only will the music ministry be reuniting, but the ushers, and dance ministry will be reunited; featuring young women that danced in this ministry over 10 years ago! The homecoming message will delivered by our very own, Dr. Woodrow Johnson, Jr. First Baptist Church will also be sponsoring #PACK-the-PEWS at the 2:00pm service, featuring an in house family competition with a trophy and a prize for the family that represents with the most family and friends at the homecoming service. The final stop on the road to FBC will be the Revival Services set to begin Monday August 12th and go through Wednesday August 14th, 2019. Start time each night is 7:00pm.
